We are recruiting two Junior Associates to join our Capital Markets group in Singapore.
Our OfficeA&O Shearman in Singapore is a hub for the firm's work across Southeast Asia and an integral part of the firm's Asia Pacific network. The Capital Markets group is a market-leading practice. We are looking for a junior associate to join our India capital markets practice in Singapore, with a focus on debt and equity capital markets transactions, including Rule 144A/Reg S offerings, IPOs, QIPs, block trades, bond issuances and similar cross-border matters. The successful candidate will support a growing pipeline of India-related capital markets work for leading investment banks, issuers and underwriters, working closely with partners and senior associates in Singapore.
Role Requirements - India, England & Wales and/or Singapore-qualified lawyer, or equivalent, with up to five years’ relevant experience, including any training contract period.
- Demonstrable India capital markets experience is essential, ideally gained in India and/or Singapore.
- Experience in debt and/or equity capital markets transactions, including Rule 144A/Reg S offerings, IPOs, QIPs, block trades, bond issuances or similar transactions.
- Must be willing and able to start by January 2027 at the latest.
- Strong drafting, analytical and legal research skills.
- Organised, detail-focused and able to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced transactional environment.
- Commercially minded, with the ability to deliver pragmatic, client-focused advice.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build credibility with partners, fee earners, clients and other stakeholders.
- Collaborative team player with sound judgment, intellectual curiosity and a commitment to developing as a lawyer.
