Finance Operations

Finance Unit Leadership

Our senior leaders across operational finance, accounting and FP&A set the direction for the firm’s core finance activities within our offices and shared service centre. They oversee financial governance, reporting, planning, forecasting, controls, and performance management, ensuring finance operates as a trusted partner to the business. By connecting strong financial discipline with forward-looking insight, they help shape priorities, strengthen decision-making, and support the firm’s continued growth and operational excellence.
Accounting and Financial Control

Our Accounting teams play a key role in keeping the business financially strong, well governed, and compliant. The teams lead core management accounting activities, including month-end close, period-end reporting, balance sheet control, intercompany accounting, audit support, budgeting, forecasting, cost management, and statutory reporting. They also oversee all movements of funds through client bank accounts, ensuring compliance with the Solicitors Accounts Rules and safeguarding the firm’s regulatory and financial integrity. The team provides the insight, control, and assurance needed to support confident business decisions and protect the interests of both the firm and its clients.
Accounts Payable

Our Accounts Payable team plays a key role in keeping our global financial operations running smoothly. The team manages supplier invoices and payment processes with a strong focus on accuracy, compliance, and service. Working closely with procurement, finance, and business teams around the world, accounts payable helps control spend, improve processes, and support well-governed financial operations across the firm.
Working Capital

Our Working Capital teams oversee the end-to-end working capital cycle, including work in progress, billing, cash collections and allocation. The team helps strengthen cash flow, reduce aged debt, and improve the way our billing is managed across the firm. By partnering with fee earners and colleagues in each of our offices, working capital supports timely, accurate, and commercially focused financial operations.
eBilling

Our eBilling team supports the firm’s global billing operations by managing the submission of accurate electronic bills through 3E and a range of client eBilling platforms. The team resolves billing and data issues, monitors invoice progress, and maintains clear records across the billing lifecycle. With a strong service mindset, eBilling works with offices and clients worldwide to help ensure invoices are submitted efficiently, accurately, and on time.

Group Finance

Financial Control

Our Financial Control team acts as the firm’s group accounting function, ensuring our global financial reporting is accurate, consistent, and well controlled. The team leads financial reporting, audits, technical accounting, controls, and policy governance, while overseeing systems integrity and inter-office finance processes. They play a key role in setting standards across the finance function, strengthening relationships across the business, and developing a high-performing team equipped for the future.
Financial Planning and Analysis

Our FP&A team plays a central role in helping the firm make informed, forward-looking business decisions. We provide accurate financial insight, lead budgeting and forecasting, support strategic planning and investment evaluation, and monitor performance against key targets. Working closely with teams across the business, we help strengthen financial processes, identify opportunities, and turn data into actionable guidance that supports the firm’s continued growth and success.

Our teams work together to deliver trusted finance technology, data, reporting, and operational support across the firm. We provide end-to-end solutions that strengthen financial systems, improve client and matter data quality, support regulatory and internal control requirements, and enable better decision-making through high-quality reporting and analysis. By combining business analysis, client data management, data governance, finance systems expertise, and technical analytics, we help drive operational excellence, support leadership priorities, and turn complex business needs into practical, effective outcomes.
Pricing and Commercial

Our Pricing and Commercial team is a partner facing advisory function that sets the direction for pricing across the firm’s most material client relationships and panel agreements. We drive client level results and lead firmwide initiatives - from pricing strategy and commercial governance to tooling and data - to deliver sustainable margin improvement.
Treasury

Our Treasury team manages and safeguards the firm’s financial assets, overseeing funding, liquidity and cash planning. The team also manages financial risks, banking relationships and capital structure, while ensuring compliance with financial policies and regulatory requirements.

Partners’ Affairs and Tax

Partners’ Affairs and Tax

The Partners Affairs and Tax team is responsible for the firm’s tax affairs and for managing its financial relationships with its partners. The team develops and maintains tax policies and governance frameworks, advises on the tax aspects of business and structural change, and oversees the firm’s global tax compliance obligations, maintaining constructive and transparent relationships with tax authorities. It also manages partner profit allocations, distributions and capital contributions, and supports partners through admission, retirement and other transitions from a financial and tax perspective.
