We have an exciting opportunity for a
Receptionist to join our
Front of House team, based in A&O Shearman’s
Sydney Office.
Front of House team – SydneyOur Front of House team serves as the initial point of contact for clients and visitors at A&O Shearman Sydney. It is crucial that this role is client-oriented and committed to delivering a seamless service experience. Beyond handling the daily operations of the switchboard and reception functions, the Receptionist must demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to support other business services tasks and administrative needs as they emerge.
What you will do- Operate the switchboard, handling incoming calls and directing enquiries appropriately.
- Manage the Reception inbox, ensuring prompt responses and accurate record management.
- Welcome clients and visitors, coordinate hospitality services, and provide a professional front-of-house experience.
- Conduct daily reception and client area checks, reporting any maintenance or facilities issues.
- Support office security processes, visitor access, and delivery management.
- Coordinate meeting room bookings, liaising with IT and Catering teams to ensure rooms are set up correctly.
- Support Teams meetings and basic AV requirements, escalating technical issues when required.
- Oversee client floor meeting room operations, ensuring a consistently high standard of service.
- Communicate front-of-house updates and support smooth day-to-day office operations.
- Manage stationery supplies, business card orders, and key Business Services documentation.
- Arrange visitor workspaces, onboarding, office tours, and access passes.
- Coordinate staff photography sessions and related communications.
- Book corporate travel in line with company policy and maintain travel profiles.
- Support internal communications, reporting, invoice administration, and general Business Services activities.
- Provide administrative support to the Business Services leadership team and cover operational functions when required.
What you will haveThe ideal candidate for the Receptionist position will be a flexible, resilient, and robust individual who exudes confidence in their approach. They should be proactive, quick to learn and capable of exercising independent judgment to determine what tasks need to be accomplished.
At times, there may be requirements to work outside of usual business hours.Key attributes being sought:
