We are currently recruiting for a number of exciting opportunities for Legal PAs to join A&O Shearman in Sydney.

About the team

We have opportunities within our Real Estate and M&A team. The teams work within a high-performing and collaborative practice, advising on some of the most complex and high-value property and corporate transactions across Australia and the wider region. The team works closely with global colleagues and clients across sectors including infrastructure, development and investment.

You’ll be supporting a Partners, working at the centre of a fast-paced, client-facing team where organisation, responsiveness and attention to detail are key.

As a Legal PA, you will provide proactive, high-quality administrative support to a Partner and their team. This is a varied and hands-on role, offering exposure to client work, business development activity and the day-to-day operations of a leading legal practice.

What you will do
  • Manage diaries, meetings and travel arrangements
  • Monitor emails, draft correspondence and respond to client queries
  • Prepare, format and amend legal and client-facing documents
  • Support billing processes including timesheets, WIP and expense management
  • Coordinate client meetings, events and roadshows
  • Assist with pitches, CVs and business development materials
  • Maintain accurate filing systems and update CRM platforms
  • Liaise with internal teams (Finance, HR, Marketing) to support day-to-day operations
  • Manage matter inception processes and ensure compliance with firm procedures
  • Provide general administrative support and act as a key point of contact for the team

What you will have
  • Proven experience as a Legal PA (or similar) within a professional services environment
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage competing demands
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Confident communication skills, both written and verbal
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to build relationships
  • Professional, calm and adaptable under pressure
  • High level of discretion and confidentiality
