We are hiring for an fantastic opportunity for a Business Development Assistant to join our growing BD team in Singapore. This is a 6 month fixed term contract opportunity.
The Business Development (BD) team sits within the Global Business Development, Marketing & Communications function. A strong client focus is central to A&O Shearman’s strategy, with BD and client relationship management playing a key role in supporting this across all regions.
The Singapore Business Development & Marketing team plays a key role in supporting the firm’s growth across Asia‑Pacific. Working closely with lawyers, partners and regional stakeholders, the team delivers targeted client development initiatives, coordinates high-impact marketing campaigns and events, and supports strategic pursuits across key practice areas and sectors. With a strong focus on relationship management, market insight and cross-border collaboration, the team helps position the firm in a competitive market, ensuring a consistent and high-quality approach to client engagement and brand visibility across the region.
Role Purpose
The BD Assistant will support the Business Development managers and work closely with other business development and marketing team members and with other business areas such as Finance, IT and HR. Key Relationships

What you will do
Assisting with the coordination of virtual and in-person events, including logistics, invitations, attendee tracking and on-the-day support
Supporting client hospitality activity and smaller-scale team events
Assisting with preparation of marketing materials such as brochures, presentations and pitch documentation (in collaboration with Creative Services)
Helping to collate information for CVs, credentials and proposals
Maintaining internal trackers and systems to ensure BD information is kept up to date (e.g. proposals, client activity, events)
Supporting updates to internal systems, intranet and website content as required
Providing general administrative support to the BD and Marketing team
Assisting with internal communications and profile-raising initiatives
Supporting email communications (e.g. mailings) and basic reporting where needed
Responding to ad-hoc tasks and requests from the wider team
What you will have

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A deep knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particular skills with Excel and PowerPoint preferred

Ability to process and analyse business data and research
Good organisational and administration skills/ability to multi-task
