Job description

We are currently recruiting for an exciting opportunity for Legal Professional Assistant to join A&O Shearman in Vietnam.

What You Will Do

As a Legal Professional Assistant, you will provide proactive and high-quality support to a busy legal team, ensuring the smooth day-to-day management of legal matters and administrative activities. You will play a key role in supporting lawyers and clients while maintaining exceptional standards of professionalism and service.
Key responsibilities will include:
  • Managing complex diaries, meetings and travel arrangements.
  • Acting as a key point of contact for calls, emails and correspondence.
  • Preparing, formatting and managing legal documents, presentations and client communications.
  • Coordinating matter administration, including file opening, client engagement documentation and matter closure processes.
  • Assisting with billing activities, invoice preparation and expense management.
  • Organising and maintaining legal documents, templates and correspondence across current and historic matters.
  • Supporting client events, marketing activities, conferences and workshops when required.
  • Providing administrative support across legal teams and assisting colleagues during periods of absence or increased workload.
  • Managing competing priorities while ensuring deadlines and service levels are consistently met.
  • Building effective working relationships with lawyers, clients and business services colleagues.
What You Will Have

To be successful in this role, you must have previous Legal PA/Legal Professional Assistant experience gained within a law firm or legal environment.
In addition, you will have:
  • Proven experience working as a Legal PA.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • A professional and confident telephone manner.
  • Strong organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
  • Experience supporting fee earners within a fast-paced legal environment.
  • A proactive, flexible and solutions-focused approach.
  • The ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • A positive, "can-do" attitude and a commitment to delivering outstanding service.
  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work additional hours when business needs require.
