About the role We are currently seeking funds lawyers with the below expertise to join Peerpoint. If you are a highly-skilled and self-driven lawyer with top tier technical experience in these areas, then we are keen to hear from you.
Fund formation and establishment (retail, private, and alternative investment fund structures) including IPOs and fundraisings
Fund registration, distribution and marketing
Investment management including drafting and negotiating fund investments
General asset management activities
Fund-related regulation, compliance and ESG
Successful applicants will have:
A right to work and reside in Australia
Qualified to practice in Australia – unrestricted
A minimum of four years' post-qualification experience, ideally within a top tier law firm and a leading financial institution or corporate (directly, or as a secondee)
Have a willingness to engage with Peerpoint as a casual employee or via an Independent Legal Practice
Strong technical knowledge and experience in a common law jurisdiction is preferred
Self-starter with a commitment to building a career as a consultant and a drive to achieve at a high level whilst working as a consultant
Adept at leading or working within complex multi-functional, multi-national project environments
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface at all levels, building strong relationships internally and externally
Client service-focused, with exemplary client service ethic and commitment
Strong commercial/business acumen
Resilient, adaptable, autonomous and highly credible
Advanced organisational skills and diplomacy

In-house with one of our clients - one assignment could be stepping into a team to support a project, while another a senior manager role tackling regulatory change. Assignments can range from two to twelve months in duration and are usually worked four days’ per week.
In the A&O Shearman practice on an ad-hoc basis, supporting teams when needed or joining them for fixed periods to work on a deal.
We only take you on when we see a demand for your particular expertise, making sure there is a good chance we can provide you with work on an on-going basis. We cannot guarantee work but we are every bit as invested in moving your career forward as you are.
