Our Marketing team helps the firm win and grow the right clients and work. We drive client development across the firm - deepening priority relationships, increasing share of wallet and converting strategic opportunities into profitable revenue. We equip partners with effective go-to-market strategies, tactics and processes, differentiated insights and disciplined execution. Alongside this, we strengthen the firm’s market profile and reputation to support client acquisition, retention, and growth. We work as one integrated global team, aligning central support and expertise with local knowledge and execution to maximize impact across offices, practice groups, sectors and client programs.

    Business Development

    Our Business Development team supports client targeting, managing proposals and pitches, creating business development collateral, coordinating events, and strengthening client relationships. They collaborate with lawyers to identify opportunities, develop strategic marketing initiatives, and enhance the firm’s market profile globally.

    Brand

    Our Brand Marketing team shapes and safeguards the A&O Shearman brand, ensuring consistent, high‑quality creative expression across all communications. Since the merger, the team has led the design, rollout, and implementation of the new identity, delivering tools, training, and firm-wide brand materials.

    Digital, marTech and AI

    Our Digital, MarTech, Data and AI team owns the platforms, data foundations and technology that power marketing across the firm – from the website and email channels to enterprise CRM, marketing automation, analytics and AI. They set the strategy for how marketing data is collected, governed and activated, lead the function's AI adoption and innovation agenda, and ensure systems operate as an integrated suite aligned to firm priorities. The team drives digital capability, supports new ways of working with tech, and positions the marketing function as a leading user of AI within the sector.

    Our Pitching team brings sales and process best practice to the way the firm responds to bids. From coaching partners and identifying winning teams to showcasing the most relevant experience and honing differentiated messaging, they help convert strategic opportunities into new worl.
