Job description
We have an exciting opportunity for an AV Solutions Engineering Manager to join our IT team, based in A&O Shearman's Prague office.Information Technology team - Prague
The core of the global technology department’s mission is to provide stable, reliable, and secure platforms and services to our partners, staff and clients and fulfil our regulatory obligations across 30+ countries. To ensure that a consistent and standardised IT service is delivered to all offices, IT is managed and led as a global function, enabling all offices to benefit from complete systems integration and economies of scale. We have around 400 technologists based predominantly in the UK, Singapore and increasingly in the US.

What you will do
Reporting to the Director, Global AV and Workplace, this role will oversee the global solutions engineering team to ensure seamless design, implementation and upkeep within our footprint. The role is a member of the Workplace technology team and is responsible for managing and motivating a team of skilled IT professionals and directing external third-party service providers.
The role is accountable for responsible for the strategy, architecture and standards of the firm for all collaboration and meeting technologies.
This role also ensures global alignment across regions and continuous improvement of standards.
This is a global leadership role responsible for defining and governing the firm’s worldwide collaboration, meeting room and workplace technology strategy. The primary responsibilities of the role include:
Define and own the global collaboration and meeting room technology vision, roadmap and lifecycle strategy.
Lead regional solution engineering teams across Americas, EMEA and APAC.
Set architectural governance, design assurance and compliance frameworks.
Own global vendor strategy, contracts, technology standards and innovation roadmap.
Oversee all major workplace technology programs and capital investment planning.
Act as executive advisor to IT, Real Estate and firm leadership on digital workplace transformation.
Drive global KPIs, service quality metrics and continuous improvement initiatives.
Represent A&O Shearman in global technology forums, vendor councils and industry groups.
Lead solution design for new offices and refurbishments
Govern project delivery and risk management
Oversee firmware, lifecycle, and system compliance
Coordinate vendors and integrators
Partner with Real Estate and IT for global rollouts
Develop customer relationships with fee earners and business teams to manage the delivery of driving the design, development, and delivery of advanced AV solutions.
Support the Technology Services leadership team to collectively define, implement and operate the firm’s design, development, and delivery of advanced AV solutions.
Act as the focal point for matters related to the design, development, and delivery of advanced AV solutions, providing expert guidance to other teams when required.
Performance management of regional leads, consultants and vendors providing mentorship and ensuring alignment with HR standards and policies.
Support service provider reviews to assess performance against service targets, drive innovation and ensure any remediation activities are being delivered.
Contribute to the management of the AV solutions budget and benefits delivery, developing estimates and tracking performance against plans.
Identify and pursue opportunities for continuous improvement in the design, development, and delivery of advanced AV solutions.
What you will have
Experience:
Direct or related experience in technology design and deployment, preferably within the legal or professional services sector.
Knowledge and understanding of project milestones, latest market technology, construction operations, project phase approach and their operational management.
Knowledge of IT strategic planning, design, and operations processes.
Proven project management capabilities.
Familiarity with Crestron, Neat, Cisco, Logi, Sure, AV over IP, Dante and configuration platforms
Knowledge of current IT and data market trends and technology innovations.
Proven track record of managing teams.
At least 5 years background in the IT industry, with experience managing technology projects.
Personal:
Proven stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
Proven business acumen and ability to understand how they add value the function, firm or clients.
Ability to lead and develop team members.
