Department purpose

Our financial services regulatory team at A&O Shearman Luxembourg delivers top-tier legal advice in the fast-evolving world of banking and financial regulation.

We assist a wide range of clients – including banks, broker-dealers, asset managers, investment funds, FinTech and crypto-asset service providers, insurers and reinsurers, payment platforms, regulators, and corporates – across both wholesale and retail markets.

Our expertise spans all key regulatory frameworks: MiFID, EMIR, CRD/CRR, IFD/IFR, PSD, MiCAR, DORA, BRRD, Solvency II, IDD, UCI, AML/CTF, conduct of business rules, and more.

Training contract

A six-month internship in our financial services regulatory department starting in July 2026 which is covered by an internship agreement.

Key requirements

• We are seeking individuals currently preparing for a master in Law, LL.M, or preparing for a bar in any European jurisdiction. You are pursuing an internship as part of your master's degree, a gap year, or for your PPI at the French Bar
• You have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a strong interest in banking regulatory law.
• Fluent in French and English, with good writing skills in both languages, as you will work on international matters.
