Job description
A&O Shearman’s Early Careers team is delighted to invite students to join us of our forthcoming Schools Open Day, which will take place on Wednesday 22 July 2026. This event has been carefully designed to give you a genuine insight into life at a market-leading global law firm, to demystify our solicitor apprenticeship. vacation scheme and training contract selection processes, and to equip you with the practical skills required to submit a truly standout application.
On the day, you can expect:
- A welcome presentation from the Early Careers team.
- Insights into our core practice areas.
- An interactive legal challenge.
- Opportunities to network with our lawyers.
- A candid apprentice and trainee panel discussing life at A&O Shearman
- A hands-on application workshop covering our recruitment process, top tips, common pitfalls and a Q&A
We understand that traveling to our office may incur some costs. Therefore, we are pleased to offer travel reimbursement of up to £150 for your journey.
Application Process:
Applications will open on Monday 18 May 2026 and close Friday 19 June 2026 at 1pm, although we may close earlier if capacity is reached. We therefore recommend applying well in advance. To apply, complete the short online application form. We review applications for Open Days on a rolling basis and aim to notify all candidates of an outcome within two weeks of submission.

Academic Qualifications:
Our academic requirements are AAB (136 UCAS points) at A-Level or equivalent. We understand you will not yet have received A Level (or equivalent) results, so please do let us know your predicted grades. We also require 7 GCSEs at grade 6 or above (including Maths and English). We do take into account mitigating circumstances, including those relating to a disability, which may have affected your grades either at school and there is a space on the application form to include these.
