Job description

We are currently recruiting for a Health & Safety Advisor to join our London office. This role will be a trusted advisor to the business, providing competent Health and Safety advice and supporting the Health & Safety Manager in the effective implementation, maintenance and continual improvement of the firm’s Health and Safety Management system. The role supports compliance with UK Health and Safety legislation and alignment with ISO 45001 for the London and Belfast offices. Contributing to a safe and well-controlled working environment for employees, contractors, clients and visitors.
Role & responsibilities
  • Complete accident and incident investigations and corrective action management, including near miss reporting and learning outcomes.
  • Complete and review risk assessments, developing control measures and supporting implementation and monitoring of actions to reduce risk.
  • Complete contractor Health and Safety audits and workplace inspections.
  • Manage and maintain the first aid and fire warden database and the online DSE platform.
  • Liaise with Occupational Health/HR on Health and Safety matters, including DSE related actions and ordering of equipment for individuals.
  • Alongside the Health and Safety manager, support the maintenance of ISO 45001 for the London and Belfast offices.
  • Engage with key stakeholders and manage client requests for Health and Safety information.
  • Support the development and review of Health and Safety policies and procedures.
  • Support the delivery of the Health and Safety training matrix and maintain training records.
Key requirements
  • Proven experience providing competent Health and Safety advice within a professional services environment, with an understanding of associated operational and regulatory risks.
  • Strong working knowledge of UK Health and Safety legislation with the ability to interpret and apply legal requirements pragmatically.
  • Experience of maintaining ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System.
  • Ability to communicate Health and Safety requirements clearly and effectively to a range of stakeholders.
  • Highly organized, proactive and detail focused with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Qualifications
  • NEBOSH National General Certificate or equivalent.
  • Technical member of IOSH (TechIOSH).
  • ISO 45001 Lead Auditor (desired).
