Typical assignments based in Abu Dhabi or Dubai are 6 months in length and full time. There can also be opportunities that allow for flexible working arrangements.

We are currently looking for lawyers with 5-7 years’ top-tier post-qualification experience in real estate planning, development and transactions. Ideally candidates will have experience in –

• a variety of commercial real estate work, including real estate planning,
• development and projects, property acquisitions and disposals, certificate of title review, landlord and tenant work, corporate support; and
• the real estate aspects of finance transactions

Examples of opportunities include:

• A 6-month contract for a real estate lawyer supporting the legal team at a well-established Investment company working with a variety of clients including retail, malls and hotels.
• A 6-month contract for a real estate lawyer to provide advice and negotiate infrastructure contracts, such as land leases, corridor license agreements, utility agreements, master agreements, construction agreements, infrastructure arrangements plus port licences and general land & infrastructure matter to a major Energy supplier in the region.
• A 3-month contract for a real estate lawyer to support the related real estate aspects of various business activities including: corporate deals, lending and JV work for a global real estate and property development organisation.

Our Criteria

Successful candidates will:

• have a minimum of four years' post-qualification experience at a law firm ranked as top tier for commercial real estate work
• ideally have recent in-house legal experience in a recognised organisation
• preferably have experience in the Middle East and fluency in Arabic
• have a desire to take ownership of their career and be responsible for their own professional development and network, proactively making use of any support and resources available;
• have researched the personal and financial factors that you need to consider when commencing a career as a legal consultant and be comfortable with the ways in which it differs from permanent employment;
• have a consultant mindset, including a highly professional, flexible and adaptable outlook and approach;
• have a practising certificate (or equivalent) which entitles them to practise as a lawyer in the region.
