Register your interest for an apprenticeship at A&O Shearman Belfast, N. Ireland!

We typically recruit for our apprenticeships from January to April, with most apprentices starting in September. In the past, we have offered apprenticeships in marketing, finance, ICT, and HR. 2025 sees us launch our legal apprenticeships.

Grade requirements for each course:

Legal

• Law degree apprenticeship (Ulster University): The A Level requirement for this course is AAB/ABB and you must have gained your GCSE English Language (Grade C/4 or above).

Finance

• Level 5 accountancy (Belfast Metropolitan College): GCSE Maths and English (Grade C/4 or above), and a minimum of 96 UCAS tariff points from any A Level subject combination; or a minimum of MMM profile on an extended diploma in business and finance or a related area.
• Level 5 leading on customer operations (business management degree) (Ulster University): GCSE Profile to include 3 Grade C/4 or above. HND/Foundation degree with 'merit/distinction' or the A-level requirement of 3 A-levels grades BBB or BCC.

ICT

• Level 5 cyber security with cloud and network infrastructure or Level 5 software, cloud and applications development or level 5 (Belfast Metropolitan College): 64 UCAS points (or 160 UCAS tariff points). We prefer candidates to have GCSE grade C or above in English and Mathematics, or equivalent such as essential skills literacy or numeracy.
• Level 3 network and infrastructure (Belfast Metropolitan College): 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade C or above, including Maths and English.

Marketing

• Level 5 leading on customer operations (business management degree) (Ulster University): GCSE Profile to include 3 Grade C/4 or above. The A-level requirement for this course is 2 A-levels Grade A-E.

HR

• Level 5 business data management (Belfast Metropolitan College): 1 A-levels grade C or above and 4 GCSE’s grade C or above.
• Level 5 leading on customer operations (business management degree) (Ulster University): GCSE Profile to include 3 Grade C/4 or above. The A-level requirement for this course is 2 A-levels Grade A-E.
