Job description
We have an exciting opportunity for a Marketing Specialist to join the Marketing team, based in the A&O Shearman Belfast office.Marketing team – Belfast
Our business development, marketing and communication teams contribute to the setting and achievement of the firm's business objectives, which includes supporting our partners and associates in their pursuit of becoming our clients' trusted advisers, building and maintaining long-lasting, deep institutional client relationships, winning new clients, increasing the visibility of the firm globally, and positioning the firm as the thought leader and most advanced law firm among the global elite law firms. The function works as one team across the globe with very close collaboration between the central teams and professionals supporting offices, practice groups, sectors and clients.
What you will do
We’re searching for a dynamic Marketing Specialist to join our Marketing Solutions Team (MST) to drive strategic marketing initiatives that align with our global objectives. You’ll play a key role in enhancing marketing operations through process improvements, data-driven insights, and cross-functional teamwork to elevate our market presence. Key responsibilities will include working with colleagues and fee earners on pitch aftercare, email marketing, data management and other ad-hoc marketing support.
- End-to-end process of pitch aftercare, ensuring all proposals and opportunities are accurately recorded in EPiC.
- Collaborate with BD teams to analyze pitch outcomes and generate pitch reports.
- Manage and update master credentials lists and CVs.
- Maintain and update standard text, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Assemble content for email marketing campaigns in collaboration with BD teams.
- Work on the build, testing, and optimisation of mailings, ensuring best practice and compliance with firm standards.
- Manage and segment mailing lists for targeted campaigns and events.
- Provide oversight of contact management processes, driving improvements in data quality.
- Lead the collection, management, and strategic use of matter descriptions and marketing data.
- Make amendments to marketing collateral as required and participate in central projects to update and enhance key brochure assets, ensuring alignment with firm branding and messaging.
- Assist with the coordination and delivery of marketing projects and initiatives.
- Support other team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and excellence.
- Promote best practice, ensuring ongoing refinement of processes and sharing of knowledge between teams.
What you will have
- Significant experience in a marketing or business development role gained in a law firm/legal services environment.
- A proven track record of delivering complex projects.
- Advanced organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple high-priority tasks simultaneously.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with experience working with senior stakeholders.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across teams and regions.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), email marketing platforms (ideally Vuture), and CRM/contact management systems (Dynamics).
- Strong analytical skills, with experience in data management, analysis, and reporting.
- Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and implement best practices.
- Proactive, strategic thinker committed to delivering high-quality, impactful work.
